Privacy Policy

Floradex ("the app") is a plant-spotting and collection app for iPhone, made by Wonders AI (TODO: LEGAL ENTITY NAME). This policy explains, in plain language, what the app accesses on your device, what leaves your device, and what we do not collect.

The short version: Floradex has no accounts and no analytics in this version. Your collection is stored locally on your device. The only time data leaves your phone is when you choose to identify a plant — and only the data needed for that identification.

Information the app uses

Camera

Floradex uses your device Camera so you can take a photo of a plant to identify and add to your collection. The app only accesses the camera while you are capturing a photo. iOS will ask for your permission the first time, and you can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Location (When In Use)

Floradex requests Location access "When In Use" to place your finds on the map, surface nearby hotspots, and file catches into the correct regional and place-based collections. The app does not track your location in the background. You can use Floradex without granting location access, though some place-based features will be limited. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Plant identification (third-party service)

When you choose to identify a plant, the app sends the following to a third-party plant identification service for the sole purpose of returning a species match:

  • the photo you captured; and
  • optionally, your coordinates (latitude/longitude), if you have granted location access — this can improve identification accuracy.

We currently use Plant.id / Kindwise for this identification. Their handling of the data you send is governed by their own privacy policy: Plant.id / Kindwise Privacy Policy (TODO: confirm this is the correct, current link). We send only what is needed to perform the identification and do not use your photos or location for advertising or profiling.

What we do NOT collect

  • No accounts. Floradex does not ask you to sign up or sign in, and we do not create a user profile for you.
  • No analytics or tracking. This version of the app includes no analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or cross-app/website tracking.
  • No selling of data. We do not sell or rent your information.

Where your data is stored

Your captures, collections, and progress are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, that local data is removed with it. Because there are no accounts, your collection is not backed up to our servers and is not synced across devices in this version (standard iOS device backups, if you use them, are controlled by you through Apple).

Children's privacy

Floradex is not directed to children under the age required by your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

  • Grant or revoke Camera and Location access at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Choose, per photo, whether to run an identification (which is the only action that sends data off your device).
  • Delete your local data by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles your data, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
